Maine Adaptive provides standard and adaptive ski, snowboard and snowshoe equipment, warm winter clothing when needed, and specially trained volunteers to instruct adults and children with disabilities, ages 4 and up, so they can become independent skiers and riders. The organization provides over 1,800 free adaptive lessons every winter at Sunday River from early January through March thanks to the help of roughly 400 volunteers.
